C-NRPP certified lab · Follows Health Canada's testing guidance

Canada's guided radon testing service. We ship a C-NRPP-approved alpha-track radon detector to your door, include a placement guide, and send 10+ timed reminders over 91+ days so nothing falls through the cracks. When testing's done, return it through Canada Post with the pre-paid return label — we deliver your official Radon Test Certificate of Analysis with clear Health Canada context.

When can I start? Any time of year. Health Canada recommends a long-term test of at least 91 days, ideally during the heating season — but a result at or above 200 Bq/m³ is actionable in any season, and a lower off-season result can be confirmed in winter. See the updated guidance →

Where should I place the kit?

Place the detector in the lowest level of your home that is regularly occupied—typically a basement living area or ground-floor room. Keep it away from drafts, direct sunlight, high humidity areas, and exterior walls. The included placement guide has detailed diagrams to help you choose the best spot.

How long does the test take?

The detector must remain in place for a minimum of 91 days. You can leave it in place for up to 12 months if you prefer a longer sampling period. Long-term testing provides a more accurate annual average than short-term tests, which is why Health Canada recommends testing for at least 3 months during the heating season (October–April).

How do I return the kit?

After the testing period, seal the detector in the provided return envelope and take it to a Canada Post depot, post office, or authorized postal outlet. Do not use a street mailbox. The pre-paid tracked return label is included in your kit—no extra cost. You can track the return shipment using the tracking number on the label.

When will I get my results?

Results are typically delivered by email within approximately 2 weeks after the lab receives your detector. Your report includes your radon concentration in Bq/m³, how it compares to the Health Canada guideline of 200 Bq/m³, and clear Health Canada context for the result.

What if my result is above 200 Bq/m³?

If your result exceeds the Health Canada guideline of 200 Bq/m³, Health Canada recommends contacting a C-NRPP (Canadian National Radon Proficiency Program) certified radon mitigation professional. Your results email includes the Health Canada guideline and a link to the C-NRPP directory so you can find a certified professional in your area. According to Health Canada, mitigation systems can typically reduce radon levels by more than 80%.

Can I order multiple kits? Is there a discount?

Yes! We offer three quantity options: Lowest Level Home ($75 — 1 kit), Lowest Level + Main Level ($119 — 2 kits) — our most popular option — and Estate Sized Home Multiple Levels ($168 — 3 kits). Each kit includes the detector, lab analysis, pre-paid return shipping, and results delivered with Health Canada context. Use the quantity selector on the product page, then click Add to cart.

Do you ship to Quebec?

Yes! We ship to all Canadian provinces and territories, including Quebec. Our service and emails are available in English and French. Lab certificates are issued by our certified Canadian laboratory.

Can I use this test for a Tarion warranty claim?

Yes. Tarion accepts results from both DIY test kits and professional testing, provided the test covers a minimum 91 day period and is certified through C-NRPP. RadonTest.ca™ kits are analysed by a Canadian C-NRPP certified laboratory. If your result is above 200 Bq/m³, you can submit a warranty claim to your builder and Tarion. For full details, visit tarion.com. RadonTest.ca™ is not affiliated with Tarion Warranty Corporation.

RadonTest.ca provides a managed radon testing service using trusted third-party detector, laboratory, and fulfillment partners. Some kit components may display partner branding. This is normal and does not affect the testing process, support, or delivery of your results.

Was looking for a Canadian company and found this great setup. Order came quickly via Canada post courier and instructions are easy to register the test online and it guides you though the whole process very easily. Pre paid shipping back to Ontario lab and results came emailed. Would reccomend. Attached video for all to see what comes in kit (radon test is inside the silver sealed bag you open and place it no setup required very easy!).

Hi Matthew, thank you so much for sharing your positive experience! We're glad the process was easy and that you're happy with the service. Thanks for recommending us!

This RadonTest was easy to setup and understand and I loved that it was prepaid shipping to a Canadian radon certified lab (alot of other companies make you ship to the USA and pay duties etc sometimes!). Results were emailed to me promptly after returning the detector. A very smooth process, would recommend!

Hi Melanie, thank you so much for your kind words! We're glad the process was smooth for you and that you're satisfied with our service. We appreciate your recommendation and hope you have peace of mind with your radon safety. Cheers!

A friend of mine made me aware of this company and to test our home. Our tests just concluded. Start to finish excellent service and communication. The tests arrived promptly and a couple of easy steps later, tests were running. The company has great communication with their reminders and keeps you updated on next steps. Keep it up team and we’ll be spreading the word! Radon exposure is an issue and I’m glad we used this test and have the comfort of knowing our home is fine.

The test went very smooth with free shipping to the lab. The results arrived in a few days by email. Our levels were on the high side ; in order to keep our family safe , we engaged a radon mitigation team . Thanks to radon test.ca, we now feel confident that our home is a safe dwelling , free of radon.

Hi Teresa, thank you for sharing your positive experience! We're glad the test was smooth and that you're now confident in your home's safety. Wishing you all the best!

Had a neighbor with high radon so I decided to test, the kit showed up quickly and setup is with a QR code very easy to place (nothing to do just place it in correct spot in lowest lived in level) and then they help remind you and guide you over the 91 days via email, and make it very simple to end the test and return it. Comes with a pre paid return Canada Post envelope just drop it in and send it back. Easy! Results came by email in about 10 days and luckily I was under the 200 level, but I am glad i tested. Their website has allot of radon knowledge if you want to read up on it. If you have a new home under Tarion in Ontario, this is the test you need to get your builder to pay for mitigation FYI - digital detectors aren't accepted, lab report from a CNRPP lab like this is what you need. Good luck and be safe!

Hi Andrew thank you for sharing your positive experience! We're glad the test was easy to use and helpful in ensuring your safety. If you have any questions in the future, feel free to reach out. Stay safe!

I had researched a few kits on the market and was concerned as some have hidden fees like no return shipping, or return shipping where duties are also owed to a USA lab, etc. So I chose this radon kit as the lab analyzed all in Ontario, and shipping was tracked courier both ways and included in price. Really liked no hidden fees! Process was smooth and I think everyone should test for radon. Def would recommend this company, legit!

Hi Larry, thank you for sharing your positive experience! We're glad you appreciated the transparency and smooth process. Testing for radon is indeed important, and we're happy to be part of that. Thanks for recommending us!
